FREE pattern: Baby striped hat




Hello friends!

Now my Baby striped hat avaible for FREE. It's the pretty striped hat for sweet babies worked in the round.

The pattern is for unlimited personal use. Do not reproduce or sell the pattern, or sell items that are knitted from this pattern.

Baby striped hat


Size: 0-6 (6-12) months
Head circumference: approx 40-43 (44-47) cm / 16-17 (17-18.5)''
Hat measures approx 17.5 (22) cm / 7 (9)''
Materials:
DK weight yarn, 10 (20) g green yarn, 10 (20) g blue yarn, 10 (20) g white
Circular needle or if you prefer socks needles size 3.0 mm/US 2½ or size needed to
get 28 sts x 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm / 4''x4''.

Abbreviations
co: cast on
st(s): stitch(es)
RS: right side
rnd(s): round(s)2
k: knit
dec: decrease
SSK (Slip-Slip-Knit): Individually slip 2 stitches knitwise, then knit them together.
Note: work in the round, every row is RS. Knit the first three rows of green yarn,
continue change the yarn every third row: blue, white, green. When you change the
yarn slip first stitch in the second row of the color section.

Cast on 84 (126) sts.
Row 1-34 (1-40): knit.
Now make dec.
Row 35 (41): *k14 (19), SSK, rep. from * 4 (5) times, k to the end
Row 36 (42): k.
Row 37 (43): k13 (18), SSK, rep. from * 4 (5) times, k to the end
Row 38 (44): k.
Row 39 (45): k12 (17), SSK, rep. from * 4 (5) times, k to the end
Row 40 (46): k.
Row 41 (47): k11 (16), SSK, rep. from * 4 (5) times, k to the end
Row 42 (48): k.
and so on until there will be 10 (12) stitches on the needles.
Cut the thread, pull it through remaining sts, tighten tog and fasten.

  1. don't know where my post went... I will try again. how best to say this 17 X 5=85 and that doesn't even take into account the 5 times I am supposed to ssk which would bring the total to 95. I just wound up decreasing evenly 6 stitches every other round which seemed to work out just fine. I just thought you might want to know. I do like the out come though. i would post a picture but it is for a gift.
